Terms of use
Last revised: June 2026
SoyUnPerro.com publishes content that is strictly informational and educational in nature about the canine world. No article, text, image, video, infographic or any other content on this website constitutes or replaces a veterinary consultation, veterinary diagnosis, prescription of treatment or professional advice of any kind. Accessing and using this site implies full acceptance of these terms and the personal assumption of all risks arising from the use of the information.
How acceptance of these terms is formed
SoyUnPerro.com is a freely accessible, free-of-charge website, with no registration forms or contracting processes. There is no transaction between the owner and the user. Consequently, the legal relationship between them is governed by the accessible terms of use model (browsewrap), recognised under Spanish law for free information services, on the following terms:
These Terms of Use are permanently accessible from the footer of every page on the site, clearly and visibly identified. On first accessing the site, users are shown a non-intrusive information notice indicating the existence of these terms and providing access to them before continuing to browse. Users may access, read and leave the site without any impediment.
Continuing to browse after having had reasonable access to this notice constitutes acceptance of these terms, in accordance with Article 5 of Law 7/1998 on General Contracting Conditions, as applicable to free information services provided without economic consideration, and with Article 23 of the LSSI-CE.
This model is used as standard and without controversy by the main digital media outlets, news portals and blogs in Spain. Permanent accessibility and prior information to the user are the elements that determine binding effect under these terms, not a signature or an explicit acceptance click, which is only required where there is economic consideration or data processing based on consent.
If users do not accept any of these terms, they must refrain from using the Site.

02 · Nature of the service and of the content
SoyUnPerro.com is an informational blog about dogs. The published content — articles, guides, lists, breed profiles, information on illnesses, symptoms, possible treatments, education, training and any other material — is the result of:
- Research and educational writing based on public sources and reputable scientific and veterinary literature
- The involvement, in many articles on health, veterinary matters and care, of licensed veterinarians or veterinary technicians, though not in every case
- The use, in some content, of artificial intelligence tools as drafting support, always on a verified informational basis and with human review prior to publication
- External sources whose accuracy, completeness and currency cannot be permanently guaranteed by the Owner
The Site is not, and does not purport to be:
- A veterinary clinic, or an in-person or remote veterinary consultation of any kind
- A veterinary diagnosis, triage or emergency service
- A service prescribing medication or veterinary treatment
- A professional behavioural or ethological advisory platform
- A source of information certified or supervised by any public or private health body
03 · Purely informational nature — Disclaimer regarding veterinary matters and animal health
⚠️ ESSENTIAL NOTICE — PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
3.1 Declaration of non-professional nature
All information published on SoyUnPerro.com is strictly informational, educational and indicative in nature. The contents of this website do not constitute, are not equivalent to and cannot replace under any circumstances:
- A veterinary consultation, diagnosis or prescription
- Health or therapeutic advice of any kind
- The professional opinion of a licensed veterinarian regarding any specific animal
- A professional-client relationship of any kind between the author of an article and the reader
- Information sufficient on its own for making animal health decisions without veterinary supervision
3.2 The user's unavoidable obligation to consult a veterinarian
For any health problem, symptom, abnormal behaviour or concern about the wellbeing of their pet, users have a personal and unavoidable obligation to consult a licensed veterinarian. No article on this website may or should be used to:
- Diagnose illnesses, ailments, infections, injuries or any other animal health condition
- Prescribe, modify or discontinue medication or ongoing veterinary treatment
- Decide whether an animal requires urgent, priority or deferred veterinary care
- Replace the taking of a clinical history, physical examination or any veterinary diagnostic procedure
3.3 Individual variability — Every animal is different
The information published on SoyUnPerro.com describes situations, illnesses, symptoms and guidance of a general and statistical nature. Every animal is an individual with its own clinical history, genetics, environment, current health status and particularities, which may differ significantly from the general cases described in any article. What is valid or safe for one animal may be inappropriate, ineffective or harmful for another.
3.4 Evolution of veterinary science and possible obsolescence
Veterinary science evolves continuously, and the guidance, treatments, recommendations and data published may have become outdated since publication. The Owner is under no obligation to permanently update all content. Users assume responsibility for verifying the currency of any information with their veterinarian before applying it.
3.5 Absence of causal link with any damage
Users expressly acknowledge that between the content published on SoyUnPerro.com and any harm their pet might suffer there is no legally relevant causal link, given that: (i) the content is purely informational and educational in nature; (ii) the user retains at all times the ability and the obligation to verify any information with a veterinarian; (iii) the decision to act or not act regarding any animal is the exclusive and non-delegable responsibility of the user; and (iv) the Owner is a provider of educational information, not a provider of healthcare services, and in no case assumes a duty of care as guarantor of any animal's health.
3.6 Disclaimer in every article
Every article on the site reproduces the following notice:
"IMPORTANT: This article is for informational purposes only and does not constitute veterinary, nutritional or behavioural advice. Every dog is different, and only your trusted vet can advise you on its specific needs."
04 · Use of artificial intelligence in the content
In compliance with the transparency principles of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (AI Act) — whose Article 50 on transparency of AI-generated content is mandatorily applicable from 2 August 2026 — and voluntarily anticipating those obligations, the Owner informs users of the following:
Some of the content on SoyUnPerro.com may have been produced with the assistance of generative artificial intelligence tools as support in drafting, structuring or summarising information. The Owner undertakes that:
- All AI-generated or AI-assisted content is based on verified, cross-checked information, without including invented data or data lacking documentary basis
- All published content is reviewed by a human being before publication, who assumes final editorial responsibility. This review is a verification of the correctness of the content, not a guarantee of infallibility
- AI is used as a support tool, never as an autonomous source of information nor as a substitute for editorial judgement
- In health or veterinary articles, additional review by a qualified professional is sought, although this is not possible in every case
- From 2 August 2026, content substantially assisted by AI will be identified as such within the articles themselves, in accordance with the obligations of the AI Act
The use of AI does not alter the purely informational nature of the content, nor does it soften the disclaimers of liability set out in these Terms. Human review of content is an editorial quality measure, not a guarantee of the absence of errors, and does not create any standard of care higher than that applicable to a freely accessible educational blog.
05 · Liability of authors and signatories
Articles on SoyUnPerro.com may be signed by licensed veterinarians, veterinary technicians or other professionals in the sector. An article being signed by a professional indicates that the content was produced with their technical involvement, but:
- It does not establish any kind of professional-client relationship between the signing author and the reader
- It does not amount to a veterinary consultation directed at any reader's specific animal
- It does not release users from their obligation to consult a veterinarian regarding any specific health problem affecting their animal
Technical responsibility for content signed by contributors lies with those contributors as regards their own technical statements, within the terms of their individual professional liability. The Owner accepts no joint liability for the technical content of articles signed by third parties.
Articles without a specific professional byline are purely educational in nature and must under no circumstances be interpreted as veterinary or animal health advice.
06 · Complete absence of warranties
The Site and all its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable Spanish and European law.
The Owner does not warrant:
- That the content is accurate, complete, up to date or suitable for any particular purpose
- That the animal health information published is applicable to the user's particular animal
- That the symptoms described in any article correspond to the clinical picture of any specific animal
- That the application of any feeding, training or care guidance is appropriate or safe for any specific animal
- That the Service is free from errors, interruptions or any other harmful element
07 · Disclaimer and limitation of liability
7.1 General disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Spanish and European law, the Owner is fully and expressly released from all civil liability for damages of any nature that may arise from:
- The use of, or inability to use, the Service
- Reliance placed on any content, article, guide or information published on the Site
- Inaccuracies, errors, omissions or outdated content, regardless of their cause
- Inaccuracies arising from the use of artificial intelligence tools in producing content
- Decisions taken — wholly or in part — on the basis of information on the Site, relating to the health, nutrition, medication, treatment, care or wellbeing of any animal
- Harm, injury, illness, worsening of condition or death of any animal arising from applying information obtained on the Site without veterinary supervision
- Delay in consulting a veterinarian as a result of having consulted this website
- Adverse reactions, intolerances or problems arising from dietary changes made without veterinary supervision
- Incidents arising from applying canine training or education techniques without the supervision of a qualified professional
- Errors, omissions or inaccuracies in the external sources used as references in the articles
- Acts of third parties or events of force majeure or fortuitous event (Art. 1105 of the Spanish Civil Code)
- The content of third-party websites linked to from this Site
7.2 Maximum liability cap
In cases where applicable law does not permit the total exclusion of liability — in particular, cases of personal harm arising from the Owner's own wilful misconduct, and the cases provided for in Articles 128 et seq. of Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007 that cannot be excluded by mandatory legal provision — the Owner's total aggregate liability towards the user shall be limited to a maximum amount of zero euros (€0.00), given that the Service is provided entirely free of charge and the user has paid no economic consideration whatsoever.
7.3 Severability clause
Should any clause of these Terms be declared void, ineffective or unenforceable by a final judicial or administrative decision, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining clauses, which shall remain fully in force and effective.
08 · Express assumption of risk by the user
Users accept and expressly declare that they:
- Use the Service and the information provided at their sole responsibility and risk
- Have had access to these Terms and accept them in full
- Have a personal and unavoidable obligation to consult a licensed veterinarian regarding any health problem, diagnostic question or decision relating to the treatment, medication or care of their animal
- Understand that no content on this Site releases them from that obligation or can replace it under any circumstances
09 · Use restriction: age of majority
SoyUnPerro.com is intended exclusively for persons over 18 years of age with full legal capacity as recognised under Spanish law, able to understand the scope, limitations and purely informational nature of the published content.
Access and use by persons under 18 years of age is expressly prohibited. If a minor accesses the Site, they do so without the Owner's authorisation and under the exclusive responsibility of their parents, guardians or legal representatives, who fully assume these Terms on their behalf.
10 · Mobile application (PWA)
SoyUnPerro.com can be installed on mobile devices as a Progressive Web App (PWA). This technology allows users to add the site to their home screen and access it with an experience similar to a native app, without downloading from any app store.
The SoyUnPerro.com PWA has the following privacy-relevant characteristics:
- It does not install any separate application on the device: it is the same website accessed through the device's browser
- It does not set cookies or tracking mechanisms beyond those already described in the website's Privacy & Cookie Policy
- It does not access the device's contacts, camera, microphone or storage
- Downloading the PWA manifest file involves an HTTP request to the server, in which the device's IP address reaches the server, exactly as with any ordinary web visit; that data is processed in the same way as described in the Privacy & Cookie Policy
Use of the PWA is subject to the same Terms of Use, Legal Notice and Privacy & Cookie Policy as accessing the website via a browser.
11 · Service availability and continuity
The Owner does not guarantee the availability, continuity or uninterrupted operation of the Service. He is expressly released from any liability for interruptions, failures in third-party services, cyberattacks or events of force majeure (Art. 1105 of the Spanish Civil Code).
The Owner reserves the right to modify, suspend, interrupt or discontinue the Service, wholly or in part, at any time and without prior notice.
12 · Prohibited uses — Protection of the registered trademark
Prohibited uses
The following are expressly prohibited:
- Reproducing, distributing, publicly communicating or commercially exploiting any content on the Site without prior written authorisation
- Using the Site's health or veterinary content to offer veterinary or animal health advice to third parties, whether for payment or free of charge
- Accessing the Site by automated means using bots, scrapers, crawlers or similar tools without prior authorisation
- Attempting to compromise the security, integrity or availability of the Site or its computer systems
- Any use that breaches applicable Spanish, European or international law

13 · Modifications to the service and to the terms
The Owner reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Modifications take effect from their publication on the Site. Continued use of the Site after any modification implies acceptance of the new terms.
14 · Applicable law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Spanish law. Regulatory framework: Law 34/2002 (LSSI-CE) · Law 7/1998 (LCGC) · Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007 (LGDCU) · Royal Decree-Law 7/2021 (Directive 2019/770) · Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (DSA) · Spanish Civil Code · GDPR · LOPDGDD · RLD 1/1996 (LPI) · Law 17/2001 on Trademarks · Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (AI Act).
