Throughout history, this dog breed has been used for hunting and as a guard dog across Asia. It reaches ninety to a hundred kilos in weight and stands eighty centimeters tall, from the ground to the shoulders.

Its upkeep is very costly due to the large amount of food it needs daily. Physical maintenance is also tricky, since due to its long, dense coat, it's not a suitable dog for hot or tropical climates, though it's an excellent choice for extremely cold climates.
